The Podbros Network had a Blast at the Monroe Comic Con!
We had a great time at the Monroe Comic-Con this past Saturday, October 3rd. It was a busy day for a lot of people and we were very happy to meet a ton of fans. Over 3,000 people attended the one day event and we are pretty sure we met them all. At the Podbros booth for the day was John, Dave (Dave’s Nerd Compendium), Heather (Tin Foil Hat with Heather), and Damon (Downriver Top Team, Worst Millennials, and The Accidental Wrestling Fan). We had some giveaways, raffle prizes, and candy for all of those that passed by while they shopped and met their favorite celebrities.
For those that don’t know, we had a raffle for a few prizes that involved comics, graphic novels, books, movies, popcorn, candy, and tons more! Half the proceeds went to help the Humane Society of Monroe County while the other half went to help keeping the Podbros Network free for everyone to listen to our shows! We cannot thank those enough that helped us give back to the community. Overall, we were able to give the Humane Society sixty-three dollars! We couldn’t have done this raffle without the following people: Heather Miles, Dave Patterson, John Bruske, C.D.Gallant-King, Jack Wallen, and Big Ben’s Comix Oasis!
It was also great to see many of the Network’s friends at the Con, producing great work! Dave the Nerd was able to get interviews with some of them, so go check out his latest episode to hear what they are up to now (Episode 82). Among those with a booth at the Con were Big Ben’s, Tony Miello, John Marroquin, Kasey Pierce, Source Point Press, Mess Bucket Comics, and much, much more. We are so happy to call them all friends of the Network.
We also did a Podcasting Panel to help those understand more about podcasting and how to get into podcasting themselves. Though podcasting may seem large among are groups, it is still a relatively small form of media compared to other sources out there. However, we were happy to educate people on how to get them to subscribe and download podcasts! We hope the panel attendees will be an even bigger group next year.
Additionally, we made new friends at the show and got to see a lot of costumes from many . Be sure to look through a few of our pictures to experience all that we experienced! Below are just a few – find us on Facebook to check out more. We can’t wait for next year!
If you want to see us at a Con, be sure to attend the ComiqueCon happening on November 7th at the Arab American National Museum located in Dearborn, Michigan. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. and you’ll have access not only to the Con but the whole museum as well!
